The Pika Foundation
The Pika Foundation is a small non-profit organization that offers children in Laos and Bhutan the opportunity to obtain an education.
In 2018, the Foundation also constructed a building in Laos so that kids can move from the countryside to town to attend school and later find a job in the city. The building project was coordinated by Vong, one of the older students who in the meantime graduated from university with an IT degree and who currently also runs the daily management of the residence.
“This event will be a tremendous help to our students, who are now moving back to school after the over one year disruption caused by the pandemic. The opportunity to obtain an education and find employment beyond subsistence farming not only improves the lives of the children but it allows them to support their families and changes the future of generations to come.” (Jennifer Vasta, Founder of the Pika Foundation).
Vzw Sporen
It takes a family to raise a child. Vzw Sporen is an local organization in youth care that supports families in complicated living situations. Their goal is for children and young people to grow up in a safe and promising environment, surrounded and supported by family as much as possible. With our tour we would like to support the living groups in Kinderdorp Hoeilaart.
